ATTORNEY COURT PROCEDURES

1. Entries of Appearance are accepted via mail for cases filed prior to September 9, 2019.  Cases filed after September 9, 2019 are required to be e-Filed per OSCA for SMC.  The MUNICPAL COURT DOES NOT ACCEPT ENTRIES OF APPEARANCE FAX.  A self-addressed, stamped envelope must be supplied with all entries submitted by mail if any correspondence is requested.

• Only one ticket/citation number per entry.  If defendant has 3 cases, etc. Please submit 3 entry's, etc., one for each citation/ticket.​

• No Entry of Appearance will be excepted the day of court.  All Entry of Appearance and Motion for Continuance must be in 5 days prior to the scheduled court date.​​

 2.  Certain cases such as DWI, DUI, Assault, Petty larceny, Peace Disturbances, Trespassing, Driving

       without a license or while suspended or revoked and other ordinance violations require mandatory

       court appearance for which both the attorney and the defendant must appear.

  3.  All DWI cases must be submitted to the Judge for acceptance of the prosecutor's recommendation

       and the attorney and defendant must be present.

  4.  Request for Recommendation must be submitted to the Prosecutor's Office, in a separate request.
