MEET OUR NEW MAYOR, ERNEST "E.G." SHIELDS - CONGRATULATIONS!

The Rev. Dr. Shields has been the Pastor of Mt. Beulah Missionary Baptist Church for more than 45 years.  He is also the: Former president of the St. Louis Metropolitan Clergy Coalition; Former president of the Midwest Regional Progressive National Baptist Convention; Former Moderator of St. Louis Progressive Baptist District Association and Former president of Missouri Progressive Baptist State Convention.

Dr. Shields is the recipient of numerous honors and civic awards such as: Minister of the Year (1994 & 2011) by the St. Louis Metropolitan Clergy Coalition; Distinguished Citizen award by the St. Louis Argus; The Martin Luther King "I have a Dream" award by the St. Louis County Awareness Committee; Certificate of Honor award by the M.L. King Jr. Non-Violent St. Louis Support Group; Distinguished Community Service award by the Dr. M.L. King Jr., State Celebration Commission of Missouri; Recognition of Dedication award by St. Louis County Branch NAACP; Distinguished Community Service award by the Royal Vagabonds Foundation; awarded the Kentucky Colonel award by the Commonwealth of Kentucky; Given Key to the City of Chicago, IL; Proclamation from St. Louis City and St. Louis County and Moderator Emeritus of the St. Louis Progressive District Association, just to name a few.

Mayor Shields is also member of numerous boards and faith based organizations, such as: The Progressive National Baptist Convention, Washington DC; Missouri Progressive Baptist State Convention, Kansas City, MO; St. Louis Progressive Missionary Baptist District Assn., St. Louis, MO; Mathew Dickey Boys and Girls Club; Urban League of Greater St. Louis; NAACP; Heat-up Cool Down St. Louis; Faith Beyond Walls; AIPAC; Beyond Housing; Midwest Bank Centre 24:1 Council; Mr. Beulah Terrace Senior Housing; Retirement Housing Foundation; Pagedale Housing Authority and Chaplain of the Pine Lawn and St. Louis City Police Departments.

He was married to his late wife, Rosie Webb-Shields for 45 years.  Mayor Shields is now happily married to Gracie (Collier) Shields.
